Journal Info > MissionThe Journal's auxiliary purpose is to provide Albany Law School students with an opportunity to hone their research, writing skills and editing skills. Second year students gain membership to the Journal by achieving an outstanding academic standing in their first year or by demonstrating excellent writing and editing skills in our annual summer writing competition. Membership on the Journal is a two-year commitment. The Editorial Board is made up of third year students of Albany Law School. The Editorial Board selects and edits all articles that appear in the Journal. The Editorial board is also responsible for managing the Journal's general membership that consists of third year students called Associate Editors and second year students, called Members. These students perform weekly primary edits on the articles that the Journal publishes. The Editorial Board is also responsible for the Journal's finances and subscriptions. Additionally, the Editorial Board guides and oversees the members in the research and writing of a mandatory student note and comment. These notes must address a legal issue related to science or technology and are required to be approximately twenty-five pages in length. Each note must be approved by a member of Albany Law School's faculty. |
